It could indeed be said that it is located right on the spot where Reykjavik began its history as during the building of the hotel archaeological remains were discovered which could well have been part of the original settlement.

The medium sized rooms are among those of the highest quality in Iceland. They are very modern despite the hotel's traditional exterior. Both the rooms and the bathrooms are in exceptional condition.

全面改装されて、質の高いホテルとなっている。 ホテルのロケーションから空港の騒音が心配されるが、全ての客室には防音装置が施され、飛行機の音はシャットアウトされている。また、実際のところこの空港は22時から翌朝7時までの間は使用されていない。 レイキャビックの観光の拠点としては最適なホテルで、“Flybus”（空港リムジンバス）の最初の停留所でもある。 （2005年1月現在／RY）

Este hotel está situado justo al lado de la principal calle de compras de Reyjkavik, Laugarvegur, en una estrecha calle. Por norma es un lugar tranquilo, pero los viernes y los sábados noche suele haber más movimiento.

Habitación
Las habitaciones tienen tamaños diferentes, pero casi todas son grandes. Decoradas deforma simple, con suelos de madera laminada, paredes en color crema y muebles en madera clara. Algunas de las habitaciones de la planta alta tienen los característicos techos inclinados y ventanas. Están en muy buenas condiciones ya que disponen de modernos baños y casi todas las habitaciones también ofrecen modestas instalaciones de cocina.

El hotel no dispone de restaurante, ni siquiera salón de desayuno, por lo que el desayuno se sirve en la habitación a la hora especificada por el cliente la noche anterior.
